Q: What colours are available?

Virtually all colours of paint and coatings are available. We can mix colours to produce the exact tone the customer wants.

Q: What are the advantages of terracotta tiles?

Terracotta tiles are best known for their durability, versatility, and earthly appeal. They are also provide great insulation.

Q: Can you paint terracotta roof tiles?

We can only paint unglazed terracotta roof tiles. Painting of traditional glazed tiles is not recommended. However we can wash them using a high pressure machine.

Q: What is high pressure washing of the roof?

Using a high pressure cleaner is the ideal way to get rid of  lichens, moss, and algae.

Q: What is bedding?

Roof bedding is the cement mortar that keeps tiles in place.

Q: What is primer?

A roof primer is a solvent-based bonding agent that is applied on roof surfaces that may be difficult to adhere e.g. built-up areas, modified bitumen, metal, concrete, and some types of tiles.

Q: What is a sealer coat?

A sealer coat is applied on the roof to seal pinhole leaks and extend the life of the roof by reducing heat transfer and thermal shock.

Q: What is a top colour coat?

The top colour coat is the final layer of paint applied on the roof. Depending on the type of roof, it may be applied directly onto the surface or the primer or sealer coat.

Q: How long do roof coatings last?

The life expectancy of a roof coating varies depending on the specified thickness, product quality, and environmental factors. Most manufacturers offer warranties for between 5 and 10 years.
